Insanity Vs. Determination!

Insanity Vs. Determination

Some have defined insanity as doing the same thing repeatedly expecting different results. However, this statement alone is powered and promoted by the belief system of one who has settled in failure. The odds of making it to the NBA might be a million to one. However, ask any key player of the league if he stopped pushing after 100 missed shots as a child with a dream. Ask any Pulitzer recipient if countless crumpled sheets or shredded scribbled papers made them stop the destiny of life's pen. Picture yourself as a rain cloud riding the wind stream of divine design. Then picture your goals, dreams, and purpose as a a tall glass bottle on a window ledge. You might find it difficult to target the lip of the bottle. You might think it insane to even attempt clearing the neck the bottle to allow your efforts to collect at the base. But you know that, if successful, it'll prove to be more than "half full" because you've never been satisfied with "half empty"! Well, just as the cloud, give it all you got and allow all of your efforts to speak loudly with every moment. The more rain drops you produce...some may fall and miss...but I can guarantee that some WILL fall and clear the lip. Some will roll down past the neck and begin to fill the bottle. Perception is not Truth....Definitions are owned by those that define....Don't let one's perception of that definition define who you are becoming! Give it all you got and you will...you will....you can! Try it again...Go back over the design...revamp the blueprint...your dream was simply a reminder of what can and will be...wake up...and live that dream. Don't let it stay as a sentence in a journal or an idea to regret. Keep at it..you're INSANE if you don't! You're not common....expecting common results is questioning your very existence! :)

Long Jumps...or Short Steps?

I don't look to jump over 7-foot bars: I look around for 1-foot bars that I can step over. Warren Buffett

33. "But first be concerned about God's kingdom and his righteousness and all of these things will be provided for you as well." 34. "So never worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” - Luke 12:33-34

Do you remember having many dreams concerning your future? Can you remember, as a child, telling all what and who you were becoming and even going as far as telling them a time frame by which this all would be accomplished? Can you also remember the let-downs that sent you spiraling into depression as goals weren't met and trials seemed to stand in the way of your breakthrough? Then you and I might've found ourselves feeling off base or out of order as it pertained to "the bigger scheme" or the ultimate "plan of God". It's amazing how we can easily become victims of expectation while forgetting how much today's actions and thoughts usher in tomorrow's victories. It's also amazing how we allow our future realities to become today's fantasies that can easily have us living in "LaLa Land". Making us forget about what it is that our hands are responsible for activating on THIS day. I challenge you this day....be anxious for nothing. It HAS to happen after all that you've been through...set daily goals and be realistic when setting them. I love walking on the treadmill...it doesn't mean that after 10 months of walking that I am now ready to challenge the likes of Carl Lewis at his prime. In order to reach your "promised land" you must start your 2, 5,10, 20, 30, and, or 40 year plan's steps today. Today write out your plan, keep it before you, always remind yourself of what is to come by posting it around your common areas. Rejoice in the trials...dance in the rains of the storm!!! When the storm passes the freshly soaked soil will yield its harvest...Some of us have been in a financial, spiritual, physical, and emotional drought since as far back as we can remember!!! Why do we cry and scream when the rains come!!!! Rejoice in these moments...you are closer than you were yesterday and alot further from where you were a year ago!

Doubts and Excuses!

"Our doubts are traitors, and make us lose the good we oft might win, by fearing to attempt."William Shakespeare

If you take a list of all things that you felt weren't accomplished and list the many reasons why, you might find yourself exposed. You might find that the many reasons that you've listed are nothing more than excuses. Some might be valid but most aren't. I found that for every reason or excuse, there was also an answer that countered whatever I listed as a roadblock or problem. I challenge you this day....make a list of all that you wanted to accomplish by now and all the things that you hope to accomplish in the future. Be honest with yourself as you list the many things that have gone wrong, got in the way, proved to be a "problem", or could stand as a potential hiccup. Then sit back and read your answers. Most if not all might lead you to laugh or simply realize the root of it all. Doubt's minions seemed to have come against your courageous cads known as hope, faith, and trust to overcome the very ideas and visions you hold dear. Sometimes you are just going to have to understand the road won't be without potholes and that a mountain is never easy to climb. However, it doesn't mean you can't...it just means that it's going to take a bit more work and dedication on your part. "Our doubts are traitors, and make us lose the good we oft might win, by fearing to attempt." - W. Shakespeare

-or as my 4Th grade teacher - Ms. Henry - would say ,"You only fail by failing to try"!
Either way...it's your destiny...it's already written and no devil in hell or mountain to be scaled can change history's future!

Make Time 2

"We can never put a harness on time as it always runs ahead. All we can do is think and plan ahead of schedule. Then we run through fields beside it as a child with an unleashed pet. :) "-Izzy That Motivational Guy

We can try with all our might to micromanage every single thought and task and we'll never be able to master time. Even the mechanisms that turn the dials and gears that guide your space and time fall behind a bit as the battery weakens. Yes, the very instrument that you rely on to remind you of the times can often fall victim to the very time that its keeping. How many of us have been late for work as the 7 year old digital clock's circuitry malfunctioned and the "set alarm" button didn't seem to work even after being set for 6am? I challenge you this day...don't let time maximize you as much as you are trying your very best to maximize time. Yes, set agendas and schedule meetings. Set alarms and plan out your day. Carefully pencil in the things and tasks that must take place as not to fall behind. However, make time for what is important...the things that can't be manipulated or put as the last priority. Rest, family, "me time", and moments to worship and reflect are just as important. You'd be surprised how far a simple smile or hugging your child/husband/wife/friend will go at the RIGHT time. Again, put things in perspective. "Don't let what you call success drive a wedge between the meaning and the matters."

Make Time

Worry is a total waste of time. It doesn't change anything. All it does is taint your mind and steals your joy.You can't have joy without peace, and there is no peace without God - Anonymous

I woke up early this morning in deep thought. After wiping the sands and pouring a cup of lemon ginger tea I started my prayer and meditation. I often write things that stir up and inspire, however, this morning I wanted to do something different. It's great to be inspired daily but there is only one who can keep you motivated without the words of men. One whose voice can stimulate the coiled hairs of the inner ear and trigger frequencies that ring down in your soul without saying a word. Where there is an absence of the Divine...there is division and distress. I challenge you this day...put things back into perspective. If you were rushing this morning and forgot to pray, take the time to do so...now. Some of you have come seeking inspiration for this day and yet the same problem might carry over to the next dawning. I would that you would position yourself for peace sake this day...don't put it off for tomorrow.I am sent here as a worker of light, however, the light is not me. Even I have to seek and pray each morning before writing or typing the first letter as I seek to inspire the soul and not just stroke the mind. Hollow yourselves out today and seek the deeper things that will keep you lifted up lest you fall. Some of you are on the edge...some an hour away from a breakthrough. Today take time for God as he never misses a moment with you. Only what you do for him will last . Take the time to center yourself today...take a breather...talk to Him. He is listening :)

Half Empty????

" A glass that is half empty is still drinkable"

-Izzy That Motivational Guy

There are many moments in life that push us to the limit. We feel as though we haven't accomplished all that we had hoped and so we're moved to reflection. In our reflecting we might find ourselves complaining about anything that comes to mind. "I never asked for this, when is it going to change, something's got to give, and I should be further along," are probably the most common complaints. We search ourselves to only label our catalysts and desires as phony and distractions. We'll sit and cry, moan, and stress ourselves to the point that carries us closer to the infamous breakdown. I challenge you this day...look at the deeper truths concerning your life. You've made it through some of the roughest times and have conquered many obstacles. Don't ever measure your strengths and accomplishments by the works of others. "There is so much more to you!" You are exactly where you are supposed to be and the beauty is that you're willing to keep on going. Yes, even in your complaining there is a willingness to see it through. Change your interpretation even as it pertains to your own reflection. Realize why you're feeling this way and let it fuel your prayers and your energies towards your prize. If you have enough energy left over to sit and complain, then there is enough energy to sit and strategize. Your complaining isn't a sign of retreat...it's the deeper side of you wanting more. Your complaints are nothing but level indicators misinterpreted. Notice that they only come after you have labored for quite awhile. Also, notice that they only come as you're drawing closer to the start of a new season. How often have your complaints been silenced by the breakthrough. Instead of complaining about the half empty glass while screaming "I'm so thirsty for more"...drink up and expect a refill!

The Rose - Thought of The Day

"How a man grabs the rose of his experiences determines his outlook. If he pricks his hands on the thorns and still remains driven by the upward curves of her lips, he is indeed successful. However, if he never makes it to her as he has been distracted by the smallest prick, then he is indeed not fit for her journey."
-Izzy That Motivational Guy
The rose, although beautiful, is not the highlight of the journey or a specific experience. One must endure the pricking process before he can begin to knock on destiny's door for his date with The Divine's daughter. You see, it isn't even the start of the journey...it is merely the "preparation phase" and the moment that drives and motivates as hope ushers in the proud posture of confidence. You've already prepared and laced your tongue with the spritz of minty freshness to carry your words. You've polished your shoes anticipating her [destiny] reaction as she hears your steps draw closer. You've rehearsed every line to impress her Holy Father as destiny has suggested. Her [destiny] smile makes the pricking process all so much more worth it as you realize the journey has just started. I challenge you this day...do not be distracted by the bumps and bruises of your "preparation phase". However, "embrace the rose of life with destiny in mind and you'll simply forget about the thorns." Your journey has just begun...you were made for this!

Believing the impossible

"And Jesus said unto them ... , "If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to younder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible to you."
Romans 1:17

"The only reason most people SEE the impossible as such...is because they've allowed their eyes to wander." - Izzy That motivational Guy

What was it that you thought might have been possible if you only believed? Was it leaping off the rocket shaped monkey bars, as I did, believing that you could fly? Was it trying to submerge yourself beneath the bright white and clear bubbles, while bathing, only to come up gasping for air after discovering that your DNA could not be traced back to Princess Ariel's mer-people? How many times did you believe or "pretend" that the gifts and special powers of your favorite superhero were extended to you as you swooshed and leaped behind the bushes in grandma's backyard? When the disappointment came did you do like most and let go the silly thoughts of childhood and ignorance? Did you simply walk away, chalk it up as a loss, and decide to grow up? In growing up, how many of us found that the disappointments, of times past, still keep us extra cautious even when the truth ushers in the change that we've been asking for? How many of us turned away from our dreams the moment it was too hard or the journey seemed a bit longer than what we first expected. We treated our steps in the sand as if we were just wandering in the wilderness and as if our goals and dreams were simple mirages that we would never really taste or feel. Well, this isn't the backyard, the bubbly bathtub, the monkey bars, and, or the old wooden tree house fort. This is your life, your strengths, your goals, your destiny. I challenge you this day...go back to the point when you started settling and stopped believing. Just as a closed mouth cannot be fed (but one that is open, asking, seeking, wanting can), your acknowledging, your simple believing is enough to agree with the Divine order. Your strengths alone cannot move your mountain, however, your faith's statement and belief in the same is enough to agree with the mighty forces of the majestic. Embrace the idea that continues to spring forth in your mind. You know, the idea that you brushed off...yet it keeps coming up as if you're still being prepared to see it come to pass (the book, the great idea concerning you, the foundation, the...the...you know...the big idea!!!). I dare you to start believing again. You may feel as if you're now up against the wall....but hey...you made it to the wall!!!!!! Treat the wall as your mountain and laugh! One of the greatest men I have ever known often says, "don't tell God how big your mountain is....tell the mountain (wall) how big your God is!" Believe and it has to crumble....believe and it will come.

Adjust The Sails!!!!

The pessimist complains about the wind. The optimist expects it to change. The leader adjusts the sails. - John Maxwell

How often have we found ourselves complaining to others on the job, in the temple, barbershop, beauty salon, designated smoking area, and or water cooler? How often have the conversations ended with a barrage of answers that we and our peers felt would aid the situation or condition? Then, how often have we taken from that conversation what was needed, took the necessary steps to make the "powers that be" aware, and then walked out those steps or took action to follow through? (don't answer that) I challenge you this day....some situations haven't changed because THE change never came. THE change - meaning YOU. Your ears didn't harness the sound waves, your mind didn't process the wave, and or decode the frequency for your understanding just for YOU to choose to ignore the call. There was no mistake that the spiritual sands flowing past the "bottleneck" of the hourglass allowed you to be positioned for a time such as this. Nothing is by mistake and though you may have to take a chance, there is nothing presented by 'chance'. You are the head and not the tail...above and not beneath. Again, making the difference in YOUR world is setting a standard for the countless worlds of others around you. Don't just seek change or speak out of negativity...be the change. As stated before, why keep knocking on the door in desperation when you are the key to unlock that very door to destiny. The winds may be blowing, the rains might make it difficult to grip the helm, the howls of those same winds might cause you to have to yell with all that you've got. PLEASE don't miss your cue to scream back and give the command to adjust the sails. You are being positioned for greatness let your strengths come out in that moment. Don't just complain or silently hope for change...be the one that stands up and makes it happen. It's YOUR call to greatness!!!! Adjust the sails!!!!!! You can handle this!!!!

Believing

"If you can imagine it, you can achieve it; if you can dream it, you can become it."

-William Arthur Ward

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

Ephesians 3:20

The greatest moments in life are those that lead us right to that fine line called "the breaking point". This is the moment and space when belief and faith speak louder than mere actions as exhaustion sets in and we're forced to push through or give up. The most amazing ideas are birthed during this moment as desperation cries out for the divine and prayer's passions are felt. What you think, ask, and, or imagine will determine your outcome. I challenge you this day...don't stop believing, asking, seeking, imagining the things that are to come. If you don't think it, ask it, imagine it then there is no standard to exceed. You see, you actually cap God even with your faith. He is so jealous of your wildest dreams that he is moved to go above and beyond even what you view as amazing. The divine will never be limited by your greatest idea and he'll prove himself in that moment as "GREATER THAN". When you've gone as far as your strength will go, in your weakness his strength is made perfect. Don't stop believing...speak louder...keep going....keep stepping. It is in this moment that the stronger are made mighty and the weak are empowered!

What will you believe? What will you imagine? There is an end...but not now. Don't stop believing!

Living For Others - Motivational Moment

" A life not lived for others isn't worth living"

-Albert Einstein

Would all be well if in the end all that remained was you? Selfless service is the key to self improvement and promotion. The bigger picture requires more bristles, paint, as well as patience. However, in the end the masterpiece inspires all those that will take the time to simply glance. Even as the one that spoke the quote has been immortalized by works and words, use your energies to make a difference. Today I challenge you...you don't have to "go out of your way", however, you can make a difference by simply reaching out to those "in your way or those sitting on the sideline of your direct route". Speak to the same homeless person that you see everyday on your lunch break. You could also take the time and resources to purchase a 5 dollar foot long for the woman crouched down in the corner that leads to the alley. There are others in need and you will be surprised how giving will enlarge the storage basket for your "getting"!

Motivational Moment for YOU - SOAR!!!!!

Motivational Moment for YOU - SOAR!!!!!
" Anything that I’ve ever done that ended up worthwhile, initially scared me to death. Whether it was walking out on stage for that very first time, or asking a girl to include me in her plans for the future, but you know what? You have to risk everything sometimes or you risk even more. It’s not the challenges we face that define us, it’s the actions we take."Danny McCrossan - Irish Comedian

Motivational Moment For YOU

You've never been in this position before...you've seen it coming...you knew it existed. Well, guess what??!!! You're here and you might be feeling like you're staring down the barrel of the gun that fires the start signal for the race. The race that ends in success, triumph, stability, and freedom! However, you're still standing as if the gun never fired and as if you never entered into the race. Your fears of twisting the same ankle you did last year while coming around corner number two have set in...you're still just standing there. WAKE UP!!!! That was last year!!!! Now is the main event and we've gotta snap out of it! The race has already started...you've already jumped off the ledge. We've already discussed this...you are like the eagle and have been designed to soar. Let's look at it in this manner...does the eagle stop embracing the currents of the wind just because today calls for high gusts. NO!!!! Adjust...this is your moment! The decision was the easiest part...following through is the challenge. Just as the eagle...if you take even a second to deny yourself in this moment and act as if you weren't designed to soar, you stand to lose more than what you started with. Command the moment and the elements will hear your slightest whisper, embrace your destiny, and support your flight above all that you are to rise above.
